About The Role We are seeking a Contract Software Developer to join a prestigious Defence organization. This role is ideal for professionals holding active SC or DV clearance, looking to contribute to critical defence projects.
The successful candidate will be based in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, or Hampshire, and will play a vital role in developing and maintaining software solutions that meet stringent security and operational requirements. This position offers an engaging opportunity to work on high-impact projects within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The role involves designing, coding, testing, and deploying software applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
You will maintain close communication with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that align with operational objectives. The position offers a hybrid working model, providing flexibility to balance on-site and remote work, along with a competitive daily rate.
Qualifications
- Active SC or DV security clearance is essential.
- Proven experience in software development, particularly with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, with a solid understanding of modern development practices.
- Experience working with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud services and deployment pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications aligned with project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and secure solutions.
- Ensure software solutions comply with security protocols and industry standards.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project progress.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement within the development team.
- Implement containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Assist in deploying applications to cloud environments and managing cloud-based infrastructure.
- Document technical specifications and user manuals to facilitate ongoing maintenance and support.
