We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineering Manager to join our client’s dynamic team in Epsom, Surrey. This pivotal role involves leading a small but vital engineering team responsible for the low-level design, build, and secure operation of a scalable and reliable Azure cloud environment. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between technical delivery and team leadership, setting engineering standards, mentoring engineers, and contributing to platform development roadmaps. This role offers a unique opportunity to remain hands-on with cutting-edge cloud technologies while managing a team focused on operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Azure engineering, with experience in team management and a passion for cloud infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring high operational availability, optimizing cloud resources, and supporting migration and security initiatives. • *Qualifications**

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in cloud infrastructure management, with relevant certifications and practical experience.

Essential qualifications include Microsoft Azure administration and design certifications, along with a proven track record in managing cloud environments within regulated or process-driven settings. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work collaboratively are critical for success in this role.

Relevant certifications such as AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator and AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions are required.

Experience with AWS, VDI platforms like Azure Virtual Desktop or Horizon, Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or ARM templates, and SQL Server administration are desirable but not mandatory.

• *Responsibilities
• Lead and manage a small cloud engineering team, overseeing work allocation, mentoring, and performance management to foster professional growth and maintain high standards.
• Remain actively involved in Azure operations, including deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance to ensure system stability and security.
• Develop and maintain high-quality Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation to support consistent and reliable cloud architecture.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to support design efforts and project delivery, ensuring solutions meet business and technical requirements.
• Manage Azure tenancy administration, including optimization, security, and compliance measures such as DLP and MFA implementation.
• Support the migration of legacy systems to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to best practices.
• Oversee backup strategies, disaster recovery plans (including Azure Site Recovery), and capacity planning to ensure resilience and scalability.
• Maintain storage lifecycle management across Blob, Files, SharePoint, and OneDrive platforms.
• Ensure accuracy of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and support Service Desk escalations to resolve issues efficiently.
• Maintain monitoring tools, infrastructure diagrams, and comprehensive documentation to support operational transparency and troubleshooting.
• Work within change control and governance processes, especially in regulated environments, to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
• Provide support for legacy infrastructure, including on-premises and virtual environments, where necessary.
• Produce management information reports on performance, costs, and usage metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
