Job description

This role is with one of Dex's trusted partner companies. We work closely with their teams to truly understand their culture, goals, and what they're looking for, so we can match you with the right opportunity and give you context about the role before you commit to a process.

Dex is an AI recruiter agent that helps you run your job search. Tell Dex your stack, seniority, and what you want to build. We will manage your applications and surface other opportunities that are a fit.

The role A leading algorithmic market maker in digital assets, trading across hundreds of centralised and decentralised venues globally. The engineering culture pairs the rigorous discipline and low-latency standards of traditional proprietary trading with the speed, flat hierarchy, and autonomy of an agile tech firm. Headcount is kept intentionally lean so individual engineers own mission-critical infrastructure rather than narrow slices of a monolith.

You will join the Core Development team, the small unit responsible for the internal nervous system running the entire trading operation. This is not a siloed back-office ticketing role; you will work hand-in-glove with traders, C++ low-latency developers, and quant researchers to design, ship, and iterate on live trading tools, feature stores, and real-time operational pipelines.

The work

  • Ingest, normalise, and route high-throughput trade and transfer data across global venues directly into internal real-time systems.
  • Build and scale reconciliation engines that process complex execution data into sub-second position updates, risk alerts, and operational reports.
  • Develop and maintain trading GUIs and operational tooling used daily by the trading desk to monitor exposure and manage live positions.
  • Design and optimise high-capacity storage and retrieval systems supporting machine learning feature pipelines for quantitative researchers.
  • Architect automated settlement and clearing workflows for bilateral counterparty and OTC transactions.

What You Bring
  • At least 2 years of professional, production-level Python experience writing clean, robust, and pragmatic code.
  • Strong working knowledge of relational SQL databases and day-to-day comfort operating in Linux environments.
  • Proven ability to collaborate directly with non-engineers—traders, researchers, and operations—translating business and desk requirements into working software without intermediate product layers.
  • Intellectual curiosity about algorithmic trading and digital asset markets; prior finance experience is welcomed, but not required.

Why apply through Dex Top-tier algorithmic trading seats with flat structures and high engineering autonomy are exceptionally competitive and hard to evaluate from the outside. Applying through Dex bypasses generic applicant queues, connects you directly to the engineering team, and provides an honest technical briefing on the desk and stack before your first conversation.
