Despatch Operator

DS Smith Launceston is currently looking for a permanent Despatch Operator to join our double dayshift Despatch team. As part of a small team the successful candidate will be expected to be flexible to undertake all aspects of the Despatch role as needed.Key duties:

• To ensure Safe Systems of Work are adhered to and report any safety issues to their team leader.
• Continuously monitor quality of finished product.
• Safely operate Forklift Truck in compliance with all rules and procedures.
• Operating palletisation machinery effectively and efficiently; complying with daily safety checks and cleaning as required.
• Loading / Unloading trailers.
• Transporting converted board into Conversion.
• Monitoring and replenishing pallets in the pallet pool/delivering pallets to conversion machines.

What we would like our candidate to possess:

• Previous experience of working within a Despatch environment.
• A team approach – ability to work well with others under pressure
• Self-motivation to ensure all work is carried out in line with department and site requirements / standards.
• Flexibility to cover multiple areas as required within the small shift team
• Basic computer skills (would be an advantage), although this is not essential.
