Position Description:

At CGI, our DevOps Engineers play a vital role in delivering secure, innovative technology that supports national security and helps protect the UK. Working within our Space, Defence and Intelligence business, you’ll help design, automate and enhance mission-critical platforms that enable our clients to operate with confidence. You’ll take ownership of meaningful engineering challenges, explore creative approaches to improving performance and reliability, and collaborate with talented professionals across our delivery teams. With access to continuous learning, technical expertise and a supportive environment, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to solutions that make a lasting difference. Join CGI and help shape the future of secure digital services.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times.

We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Please note: This role is primarily based on a secure client site, requiring attendance five days per week. Occasional flexibility may be available subject to business needs and security requirements. Due to the level of security clearance required, applicants must be sole British nationals, have resided in the UK for the past 10 years and must not have spent more than 28 consecutive days outside the UK within the last five years.

Candidates who do not currently hold clearance are encouraged to apply and may also be considered for other suitable CGI opportunities.

You’ll take ownership of complex engineering challenges, applying your technical expertise to improve platform reliability, streamline deployments and strengthen operational performance. Working with modern containerisation, infrastructure automation and continuous integration technologies, you’ll contribute to delivering resilient solutions that meet demanding security and performance requirements.

You’ll collaborate with developers, testers and platform specialists to identify opportunities for innovation, resolve technical challenges and continuously improve engineering practices. Supported by a knowledgeable, cross-functional team, you’ll have the freedom to explore new approaches, develop your capabilities and contribute to technical decisions that deliver meaningful outcomes for our clients.
