Job Summary The Student, Apprentice, or Intern is responsible for supporting administrative or operational tasks while gaining practical experience. This role follows specific instructions and procedures and is designed to provide learning opportunities in a structured environment.
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join Sulzer Services (UK) Ltd. as an Engineering Apprentice. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and practices within a dynamic industrial environment.
You will be supported through a structured apprenticeship program, combining practical work with formal training to build a successful career in engineering.
As an Engineering Apprentice, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting experienced engineers and technicians with the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of various industrial equipment and machinery.
Learning and applying a range of engineering techniques, including mechanical fitting, machining, welding, and electrical fault finding.
Following detailed technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions accurately.
Participating in workshop activities, contributing to efficient operations and adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
Developing problem-solving skills by identifying and troubleshooting basic engineering issues.
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly cared for.
Actively engaging in all aspects of the apprenticeship program, including attending college courses and completing assignments.
Documenting work performed and reporting progress to supervisors.
Continuously learning and adapting to new technologies and processes within the engineering field.
Job Qualifications To be successful in this Engineering Apprentice role, you will ideally possess the following qualifications:
Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 (C) or above, including English, Mathematics, and a Science or Technology subject.
A genuine interest and passion for engineering and how things work.
A proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a strong willingness to learn.
Good practical skills and manual dexterity.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
A strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
Basic IT literacy.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
