Requirements
Must have:
- Proven experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript - Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - Experience consuming internal or RESTful APIs - Experience with Elasticsearch and SQL-style databases - Experience with Git and cloud deployment in Azure and/or AWS - Hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance - PyGeoAPI experience would be beneficial - Familiarity with Jira and Confluence would be beneficial
Responsibilities:
- Build responsive, accessible user interfaces backed by internally developed APIs and search indexes - Work across the full development lifecycle alongside design and product teams - Take part in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high quality - Maintain existing applications and troubleshoot issues - Help streamline deployment through CI/CD and automated testing
Company:
We are a central government department based in Exeter, offering a hybrid contract role with some office attendance expected around 1–2 days per week. This is an initial 6-month contract with pay up to £600 per day, inside IR35 and paid via umbrella.
