About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and autonomous Full Stack Developer to join our team on a permanent basis. This hybrid role based in Dorset involves supporting the Product Owner in delivering key features across various systems. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Lifecycle Managers, Service Support teams, and fellow engineers to design, develop, and enhance solutions within our AWS-hosted environment.

The role offers a collaborative team culture, flexible working arrangements with two visits per week to our Dorset Head Office, and a healthy work-life balance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Java (Spring Boot), Angular, and SQL, contributing to the development of high-quality software solutions that meet project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a solid background in full-stack development with experience in Java (Spring Boot), Angular, and SQL. A good understanding of backend services, user interface development, and database optimization is essential. Familiarity with tools such as GitLab, Jira, and Confluence is desirable.

Additional experience with Android SDK or mobile UI development is a plus. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and excellent communication skills to effectively share knowledge and coordinate within an Agile environment. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if equivalent practical experience is demonstrated.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions from initial design through to production, ensuring adherence to project deadlines and budgets.

Key responsibilities include coding and building user interfaces using Angular, developing backend services with Java (Spring Boot), and designing efficient SQL queries for MySQL and SQL Server databases. You will actively participate in Agile team activities, including discussions, requirement clarifications, and code reviews. Sharing knowledge within the team and supporting colleagues in troubleshooting and debugging are integral parts of the role.

Additionally, managing development workflows using tools like GitLab, Jira, and Confluence is expected to ensure smooth project delivery. The role also involves continuous learning about the product domain and contributing to the overall improvement of the development process.
