Full Stack Developer

Join an autonomous delivery team where you will directly influence the evolution of a high-impact GOV.UK digital service. You will leverage a modern stack featuring Ruby on Rails, Java (Spring Boot), and AWS to ensure service reliability and deliver seamless user experiences for millions of citizens.

• *The Role
• Build and scale robust backend services utilizing Java (Spring Boot) and PostgreSQL within a high-traffic environment.
• Develop and enhance complex frontend functionality using Ruby on Rails and the GOV.UK Design System (GDS) standards.
• Architect and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda and Fargate, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform to maintain scalable cloud environments.
• Lead technical discussions and collaborate with user-centered designers to bridge the gap between complex engineering and citizen needs.
• *What You'll Need
• Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails and Java (Spring Boot) for full-lifecycle application development.
• Proven experience with AWS cloud services, specifically managing serverless deployments and Terraform for infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and managing data persistence in cloud-based environments.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies in a live service "DevOps" culture.
• Familiarity with GDS/GOV.UK service standards is highly desirable; ability to pass basic security clearance is essential.
