ABOUT THIS ROLE

This role is based in our Leeds office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.

We are looking for a JAVA developer to join our new internal eccommerce development team at ghd. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to help define and shape an internal development at ghd. After a successful replatform to SAP Commerce Cloud (v2) we are looking to what’s next – continue to push the capabilities of the platform and ghd’s customer offering whilst building for a more composable future with everything that entails.

We don’t stand still at ghd and we are looking continuously enhance the platform. We are in a period of continuing growth and this role will be instrumental in delivering that growth to the business. The role will also have an eye to the future to help us navigate the many technical projects on the roadmap for the next three years at least.

We offer a collaborative and innovative environment and are looking to this role to lead technical development and shape commerce platform delivery for the future. A composable solution is very much on the roadmap for our technical delivery and this role will be key to delivery.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The successful applicant will work alongside our existing third party delivery agency and ghd lead developer to build the in-house experience and capability to develop and grow the commerce platform.

• Work through development backlog to implement the new features of the ghdhair.com platform
• Support and optimisation of existing functionality
• Analyse and resolve production issues, providing timely support to minimise downtime
• Execute continuous delivery of value to the business
• Work with the lead developer to ensure quality deliverables in a timely manner
• Optimise e-commerce systems for performance, scalability, and security, ensuring a fast and secure online shopping experience
• Collaborate with the BA team to ensure accuracy of development features

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

• Experience in SAP Commerce Cloud and a strong ecommerce background
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Excellent knowledge of Java platform (collections, concurrency, etc), Springboot Microservices
• Experience with Gitflow, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines functioning
• Analysis skills, ability to challenge approaches and propose the most optimal solutions
• Understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies in particular
• Experience with unit and integration testing (JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, etc.)
• Experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and front-end framewarks (Angular, React etc)
• Hands-on experience with developer daily basis tools such as IDE’s, compilers, debuggers, profilers, version control systems, bug tracking systems, build systems (Gradle, Maven2, etc), code coverage and automated testing tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Experienced with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
