Requirements

Responsibilities:

- We design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.

• We collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and delivery teams in an agile environment.
• We contribute to technical discussions, architectural decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• We write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following TDD principles.
• We participate in pair programming and peer review activities.
• We support the delivery of high-quality digital services within government or similarly regulated environments.
• We promote engineering best practices across the wider team.

Company:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer to support the delivery of complex, high-impact digital services within a secure and fast-paced environment. This is a 3-month contract with scope for extension, offered at a rate of 470 a day inside IR35, with an early-to-mid June start date. The role is primarily remote with occasional onsite attendance, up to once per month, and onsite locations may vary between Sheffield, Leeds, or London. You will join a collaborative engineering team focused on building scalable, resilient backend systems using modern JVM technologies and strong engineering practices, with a particular emphasis on quality and Test-Driven Development.
