Layout Engineer

Layout Engineer Near Coventry Contract Role | On-site - 5 days per week We are currently seeking an experienced Layout Engineer to support site-based automation and continuous improvement activities at our facility. This is a hands-on, on-site contract role, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the shop floor and proactively resolving layout and deployment challenges. The contract rate is open, and we are evaluating candidates based on experience and rate expectations.

Contract duration: 3-6 months Role Overview The successful candidate will play a key role in facility layout development, with a strong focus on AGV route control and updates. This position requires someone practical and adaptable, capable of manually taking measurements on site and acting as a general all-rounder to support deployment and layout-related needs.

Key Responsibilities Create, update, and manage 2D CAD facility layouts to support automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects

Design, maintain, and update AGV routing layouts, ensuring safe navigation, clear pathways, and integration with existing workflows

Update machining and equipment layouts to reflect changes in process flow, tooling, and automation requirements

Work closely with cross-functional teams to interpret requirements and translate them into accurate CAD deliverables
