About the Job You Are Considering
We are seeking a Software Developer to join a collaborative Agile delivery team, contributing to the full software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for developing clean, efficient code, integrating internal and third‑party systems, supporting deployments, and ensuring high‑quality software delivery through robust testing and CI/CD practices.
This role involves close collaboration with architects, developers, testers, product owners, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions within a regulated environment.
Working The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time. Your Role
Develop clean, efficient code based on detailed specifications and User Stories.
Integrate software components across in‑house systems and third‑party applications.
Deploy tested code to SIT and UAT environments.
Support and maintain existing applications, including troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading.
Recommend and implement improvements to enhance performance and maintainability.
Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation for development solutions.
Conduct peer code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with architects and developers to contribute to solution design.
Estimate User Stories and provide accurate estimates for backlog planning.
Write unit tests and deliver test artefacts aligned with acceptance criteria.
Support continuous integration and continuous deployment initiatives.
Help remove technical impediments impacting team progress.
Work closely with database administration and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployments to production.
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements, including Solvency II, fair customer treatment, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing. Your Skills
Strong experience in Agile software development (minimum 3 years)
Programming & Frameworks Python
Java, JavaScript, JSON
DevOps & CI/CDCI/CD tools (e.g., Bamboo)
Experience with build and deployment automation
Architecture & Integrations Microservices, APIs
Cloud & Deployment AWS and/or Azure
Various deployment methods: EC2, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, JVM, Docker
Cloud databases (e.g., AWS RDS)
Containerization Docker, Fargate, Kubernetes
Version ControlGit, TFS
Experience with TDD and developing within a fully test-driven environment
Experience producing technical documentation, support guides, and technical specifications
Familiarity with the full SDLC including development, unit testing, and release management
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
Ability to collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, BAs, and Testers
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Delivery of high‑quality, fully tested software within agreed sprint timelines
Recognition as a technical authority within the development team
High accuracy in estimating User Stories and development tasks
Minimal errors during SIT and UAT
Smooth transition of changes from development to production environments
