About The Role

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Python Developer to join our Central Government client on a six-month initial assignment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions within a dynamic environment. This role requires a deep understanding of backend development, microservices architecture, and secure coding practices.

The Senior Python

Developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality applications that meet stringent security and performance standards, particularly within the public sector or defence environments. The ideal candidate will possess active SC Clearance and demonstrate a proven track record in software engineering, with expertise in Python, Golang, and C#/.NET technologies.

Qualifications

• Active Security Clearance (SC Clearance) is essential.
• Proven experience in developing production-grade applications using Python.
• Strong background in designing scalable backend services with Golang.
• Extensive knowledge of constructing enterprise-grade applications utilizing C#/.NET.
• Experience in building RESTful APIs and managing microservices-based architectures.
• Proficiency with Git-based version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and security best practices.
• Familiarity with secure environments in the public sector or defence is highly advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure backend applications using Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions that align with project goals.
• Develop and implement microservices architectures to enhance system modularity and scalability.
• Create and manage RESTful APIs to support various application functionalities.
• Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Implement security measures and best practices to safeguard sensitive information and comply with public sector standards.
• Maintain documentation for code, architecture, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure optimal operation.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions into ongoing projects.
