We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Python Developer to join a dynamic Digital Transformation Consultancy supporting a significant project within the Public Sector. This is a contract position for six months, with the possibility of extension, aimed at delivering critical technological solutions for healthcare and NHS-related initiatives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing serverless applications using AWS technologies, ensuring system robustness, scalability, and security.This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful public sector projects, leveraging your expertise to improve healthcare services and digital infrastructure.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Python development, with hands-on experience working within AWS environments, particularly with serverless architectures. Proven expertise in AWS Lambda, StepFunctions, and DynamoDB is essential. Familiarity with PySpark and Databricks is highly desirable, demonstrating versatility in data processing and analytics.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and experience managing stakeholder relationships. A background in the healthcare or NHS sector is critical, as understanding the specific challenges and regulatory requirements in this domain will be advantageous. A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, along with professional certifications in AWS or Python development.
Responsibilities The Principal Python Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying serverless applications using Python and AWS services.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, creating scalable and maintainable code, and ensuring the security and compliance of solutions within the healthcare sector. The role involves leading technical discussions, mentoring junior developers, and providing technical guidance to ensure best practices are followed. Additionally, the developer will be involved in integrating various data sources, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting issues efficiently.
Regular communication with stakeholders to update project progress, gather feedback, and adapt solutions accordingly is crucial. The role also entails documenting technical specifications and participating in code reviews to uphold high-quality standards.
