Python Developer | £50 - £60 per hour

We're working with a leading global financial technology partner at the forefront of Equities Derivatives innovation on this exciting opportunity.

This is a high-impact role within the fastest-growing area of Equities Derivatives Technology, focusing on the sophisticated automation of Structured Notes and complex financial products. You will leverage Python and SQL within a high-performance n-tier architecture to build mission-critical tools that drive STP rates and optimize global Treasury workstreams.

The Role

• Lead the design and build-out of automated applications and microservices for Structured Products, driving end-to-end automation and real-time exception alerting.
• Optimize Treasury workstreams by increasing Straight Through Processing (STP) rates and integrating complex data attributes for global decision-making.
• Architect and implement robust, cross-language REST-based services within a high-concurrency, server-side Python environment.
• Collaborate directly with Sales, Trading, and Structuring teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence through Agile methodologies, including Test Driven Development (TDD), pair programming, and continuous integration.

What You'll Need

• At least 7 years of professional software development experience, specializing in Python for complex server-side functionality.
• 3+ years of deep domain expertise in Front-Office Equities Derivatives systems (Structured Notes or Structured Products knowledge is a massive plus).
• Advanced SQL skills, specifically within an Oracle database environment, alongside Shell scripting and Unix/Linux proficiency.
• Proven experience in software architecture, utilizing RESTful n-tier designs and automated testing frameworks (Unit, Integration, and Acceptance testing).
• A proactive "self-starter" mindset with the ability to mentor junior developers and influence architectural decisions across different workstreams.
