About The Role We are seeking a talented Python Developer (Backend) to join our client's dynamic engineering team remotely, with quarterly planning sessions held in Bristol. This is an initial fixed-term contract of six months, with the potential for multi-year extension based on project needs and performance.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in building a new service platform centered around CRM functionalities, contributing to a greenfield initiative that aims to revolutionize customer relationship management solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on innovative projects within a collaborative environment, utilizing your technical expertise to deliver scalable, high-quality backend services.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical proficiency, practical experience, and a proactive mindset.

Essential qualifications include significant commercial experience developing backend applications using Python, along with proven expertise working within AWS cloud environments. A strong understanding of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL, or NoSQL databases like DynamoDB is required. Candidates should have experience in building and supporting production-grade backend services, demonstrating the ability to operate comfortably in a hands-on development environment.

Excellent problem-solving skills, a product-focused approach, and familiarity with Agile development methodologies are also essential. Additional desirable skills include familiarity with DynamoDB, event-driven architecture, messaging patterns, and microservices development, especially in CRM or customer service contexts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Python to support the new platform's functionality.
• Build scalable APIs and event-driven services that seamlessly integrate with customer-facing applications.
• Develop and optimize data solutions within AWS cloud environments, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with product teams, frontend developers, and engineering colleagues to deliver new features and platform capabilities.
• Participate in architectural decisions, providing insights and establishing best practices for service design and implementation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and engineering excellence across the team.
• Engage actively in Agile ceremonies, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.
