Position: Python Software Engineer

Location: London (4 days a week)

Contract- Permanent

My client are looking for Python Software Engineer to join a global technology team within a fast paced financial services environment. You will play an important role in developing and enhancing reliable, scalable systems that support critical business operations.

We place a strong emphasis on software quality, maintainability, testing and engineering best practices, and are looking for someone who shares this approach.

In this role, you will be responsible for

• Designing and developing highly reliable and testable Python based batch systems.
• Providing operational support for critical production systems.
• Working closely with business and commercial teams to develop new products, features and technical solutions.
• Contributing to R&D initiatives, evaluating new technologies and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Working collaboratively as part of a global software development team.
• Supporting the continuous improvement of development processes, systems and engineering practices.
• Working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Requirements

• 3 years of commercial experience developing software with Python.
• Experience working with large datasets and data processing technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Hands on experience with SQL
• Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
• Experience writing clean, maintainable and testable code.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
