Remote Back End PHP Developer

Requirements

Must have:

- We are looking for an experienced Web Application Developer with strong PHP software engineering skills.

• We value strong problem-solving ability and high-quality software development over knowledge of specific frameworks or libraries.
• We expect an understanding of modern development techniques.
• We work with a large codebase that includes legacy code, so comfort working in a refactoring environment is important.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and the ability to fully own the code you write is important to us.
• Experience with unit, functional, and integration testing is highly valued.
• Experience working with Continuous Integration, particularly Jenkins, is advantageous.
• Experience with Docker is very helpful.
• We ask for examples of public code if available, though this is not essential.
• We are looking for someone who is UK based, as this role cannot be sponsored for the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

- Write high-quality software primarily using PHP.

• Build new features using the latest PHP language features.
• Work with AI-assisted development while fully owning the code you produce.
• Contribute appropriate test coverage, including unit, functional, and integration tests.
• Work within our continuous integration and continuous deployment processes.
• Use our Docker-based development and production stack.
• Use our Slack bot to push changes to live environments as part of deployment.
• Collaborate with the team on code review and peer review.
• Take advantage of time to build something interesting, try new technology, or fix bugs through our 90/10 policy.
