Requirements
Must have:
- Strong commercial experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments - Solid understanding of Rails monolith architecture and full-stack troubleshooting - Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs - Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, and Sidekiq - Comfortable working with AWS infrastructure - Experience using Docker in development or production environments
Responsibilities:
- Own technical direction and architecture decisions within our Rails application - Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs - Optimise background job processing using Sidekiq - Help improve onboarding scalability and reduce backend delivery bottlenecks - Identify technical risks early and balance trade-offs between speed, quality, and scope - Collaborate within a cross-functional product squad - Support and mentor engineers through technical leadership and problem-solving
