Senior Java Developer

We're looking for a Senior Java Developer for a public sector organisation based in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Blackpool or Cardiff (hybrid) on an initial 12 months contract, paying up to £650 per day (Inside IR35). This is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend a regional hub around three days a week. The successful Senior Java Developer will build and maintain cloud-based services within a multi-functional agile delivery team, contributing to design as well as build.

You'll own the operational stability and resilience of the products you ship, and solve technical and procedural blockers independently. Expect to work with modern CI/CD, containerisation and codified cloud infrastructure throughout. You will need proven experience working with the following: Recent Java development on AWS

Building microservices and RESTful APIs

Kafka and event-driven architecture

Containerisation with Docker

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and GitLab CI pipelines

TDD, BDD and agile delivery Node.js experience would be beneficial, as would familiarity government departments. You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance; active SC is highly desirable. Interested? Please apply below.
