Requirements
Must have:
- Commercial experience developing software in C++ (approximately 18 months or more) - Strong Linux development experience - Experience debugging software and working with tools such as Valgrind - Good understanding of networking concepts and analysing network traffic and protocols - Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and JavaScript - Experience using Docker - Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins - Experience using Git for version control - Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent commercial experience - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities - A proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement - Willingness to travel when required - Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security, quality and professionalism
Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing and maintaining high-performance C++ applications for Linux environments - Producing clean, maintainable and well-tested code with a focus on performance and reliability - Using static analysis, profiling and debugging tools to improve software quality - Investigating and resolving software defects, including third-party library and dependency issues - Containerising applications using Docker - Supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery - Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technical solutions that meet customer requirements - Participating in code reviews and following engineering best practices - Using Git-based version control platforms to support collaborative development
