Aaisha Yaser

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic graduate with a BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies from the University of Huddersfield, with a strong passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing. Through university placements and voluntary experience, I have developed practical experience of working with children in classroom and early years settings, including supporting lower-attaining learners, delivering guided reading and phonics activities, and providing individualised 1:1 support. I am caring, patient, adaptable and reflective, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to creating inclusive, supportive and engaging environments in which every child can make progress.

I am now seeking an opportunity to build on my experience within a school or child-focused setting, where I can contribute reliably and positively while continuing to develop my professional skills.

University Placement – Year 2 - The Halifax Academy

• Supported Year 2 pupils with classroom learning and day-to-day tasks, helping children to participate confidently in school routines.
• Worked closely with lower-attaining pupils, providing additional support and adapting explanations and activities to individual learning needs.
• Delivered 1:1 guided reading sessions, supporting children's reading development and identifying areas where they found learning challenging.
• Observed children's progress over time and adapted support in response to their individual strengths, needs and areas for development.
• Supported guided phonics sessions, helping children to develop early reading, phonological awareness and confidence.
• Assisted with everyday classroom routines, organisation and learning activities while working collaboratively with teaching staff.
• Built positive and professional relationships with pupils, contributing to a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.

SEND Placement - Hall Cliffe Primary School

• Worked closely with pupils with additional needs, adapting activities, resources and communication methods to support learning, participation and engagement.
• Supported children's emotional, social and academic development and promoted positive relationships within the classroom.

Private Nursery Placement - Goose Hill Nursery

• Supported early years development through structured play, communication activities and child-centred learning experiences.
• Assisted with daily routines and helped create a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.
• Developed strong communication and teamwork skills while working with children and other staff.

Speech Stars Programme Volunteer - Kirklees Speech Stars

• Supported children aged 4–5 with speech and language development through weekly small-group activities.
• Helped to build children's confidence, communication skills and positive engagement with learning.
• Developed strong rapport with young children while strengthening communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
