I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor's in Biomedical Science from Sheffield Hallam University. My academic journey has been fuelled by a passion for the improvement of patient development and care from personal experiences with different outcomes. I particularly am interested in cancer research and drug discovery. I have explored this through a gain in knowledge acquired from particular modules.
During my studies I focused on a 6 week project with investigating the impact of lipids on short chain fatty acids to assess the reaction due to th recent correlation related with multiple Sclerosis (MS). This opportunity allowed me to engage and apply knowledge in real world settings, collaborate with professionals in the field and benefit from co working with other candidates collecting data for the project.
Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy hiking, football, reading and socialising which helps me maintain a good work life balance enhancing my perspective in areas.
Weekly laboratory work developing gradual skills based upon an enhancement of knowledge each week. Conducting a 6-week project investigating the effect of lipids on short chain fatty acids, using techniques such as cell culture, fluorescent microscopy, MTT assays and plate readings.
Completed various modules including Cellular Pathology and Infection, Pathology basis of disease, Genes to proteins, Neurobiology and many more.
