My name is Abbie, I am a MArch Architecture graduate from Manchester School of Architecture. I am eager for the opportunity to advance my architectural career by learning from a exciting and dynamic work environment.
I have two years’ experience working in practice. In 2019, I was employed by FaulknerBrowns Architects, to assist in the design of high quality and technical projects. This role gave me the opportunity to delve into the sports and leisure sector, allowing me to engage in captivating design ventures such as the Dublin Velodrome and the restoration of Barrow Library, an esteemed Grade 2 listed structure reflecting the magnificent Beaux-Arts architectural style.
In 2020, I continued to build on my experience, by accepting a role as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant for ADP. I had the privilege of working in a tightly-knit office environment with a remarkable team of four individuals. Their mentorship throughout my journey was invaluable, providing me with crucial insights and a comprehensive understanding of the practical progression of building design.
During my time at ADP, I worked on a variety of projects in different sectors, such as Education, Hospitality and Conservation. For example, I had the chance to contribute to the design process of Surbiton High School, which served as an eye-opening experience. It deepened my understanding of how design choices can significantly influence the way individuals absorb information, helping to further their educational journey.
