Kitchen Porter - The Castle Inn - Newport
(2026-02)
I have been a core part of the kitchen team, ensuring the entire back-of-house operation runs efficiently from start to finish. My main priority is maintaining a completely clean, organised, and safe environment, which means strictly following to all food hygiene regulations and health and safety standards. On a day-to-day basis, I manage the high volume of washing up, maintain the workstations, and ensure the chefs have a constant supply of clean equipment during frantic services.
I am completely used to the intense pressure of a busy pub kitchen and know how to stay focused when the ticket machine doesn't stop. I work collaboratively with the chefs and front-of-house staff to keep the line moving, anticipating what the team needs before they have to ask. Whether I am conducting deep cleans at the end of the night, managing stock rotation, or stepping in to help with prep work on the fly, I take pride in being reliable and keeping standards high under heavy workload.

Kitchen Porter - The Waverley Bar - Newport
(2025-02 - 2025-12)
This role was where I really learned how to handle a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Working as a kitchen Porter, I was responsible for keeping the back-of-house clean and making sure the entire workspace stayed hygienic and organized so the team could function properly. I spent nearly a year turning up on time, working hard, and learning how to keep my head down and stay productive when the pub got slammed during peak service times.
It taught me how to be sharp, how to work as part of a tight team, and how to stay on my feet for hours without letting my standards slip. Having that solid foundation of hard work means I don't need my hand held, and I can bring that exact same reliability and quick pace to your company.
