Help to monitor children and young people with their personal care; granting them listening ear.
- Ensuring and helping children and young people to secure their medical appointments smooth running of check-ups and administer their medications as prescribed and timely.
- Help to take the children out to places like cinema centers, recreation activities.
- Ensuring that their routings are been attended to accordingly like eating food nutrient.
- Ensuring that they keep to their physical hygiene like bathing, having their hair cut/braiding their hair
- Safeguarding children and young people from harm such as physical, sexual and psychological abuse etc.
- Acting as an advocate at meetings where children and young people is the subject of discussion.
- Keeping accurate records and providing written reports on children and young people for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager.
- Being aware of the aims and objectives of the school and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve them.
- Provide support for the children every day by following the school bus to pick them up at school.
- Encouraging the children to be calm by singing and playing with them.
- Developing techniques that will help in making sure that children capture and understand what they are been thought. Using learning techniques like Pictorial presentation (PCES), gesture etc.
- Prompting the children to change their clothes when it's dirty.
- Feeding the children during lunch time and monitoring them to ensure there are no problems.
- Making the children feel relaxed and safe by providing emotional care like listening, discussing and playing with them.
- Helping children and young people gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behavior and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct.
- Providing advice, assistance and support to children and young people to address their past and present difficulties.
