The Contemporary Art Practice program offers a discursive environment in which to discuss contemporary issues for thinking about, making and displaying fine art. The course provides the appropriate technical means to make works in any format and also offers individual tutorials, seminars and cross-pathway crits for debate and discussion about our individual or collaborative projects.
I have had college-wide technical workshops and gained practical skills in 3D making: metal casting, welding fabrication, glass, and ceramics. Amongst other things, I have experience in handling equipment in industry-standard film and photography studios, this also includes the use of editing software.
In addition, I have been gaining skills relevant to a professional career in museums and galleries. Skills include collections care procedures, art handling, packing and storing objects, documentation, collections-based research, exhibition production, and display evaluation.
