Prisoner Custody Officer - Serco Ltd

- Check the van on board the cells and around the van if any faults prior to leave depot.
- Checks on dper with the other officer about the custodies history i.e if they safe harms, recalls, violent etc and which location of courts or prison where they are going.
- When arriving at prison the van and officers gets checked and asked what location we are going.
- Once all clear, we arrive at the reception of the prison.
- The prison reception staff asked who we talking and where the custodies are going, then other prison officers bring custodies down from their cells and checked and searched by them and checked by medical to see if they fit for travel before handed over to us.
- When they are handed over, they get search by us again, and their property is stalled away on board the van until they reach the court.
- When doing lPT's sometimes means to transfer custodies to other or different prisons when required.
- On destination with custodies, we constant watch them on camera, to check on the welfare of the custodies.
- In addition when at court, may after help the court staff with their duties with the custodies.
- The custody cells are kept clean and tidy at all times after when custodies as use them.
- Other skills involved including first aid, self awareness in which custodies could self harm themselves and defence skills. Maintain checks on custodies throughout the journey.
- Change over driving with another colleague when during hours on shift.
Engine Assembler - Perkins Engines LTD
