I have extensive experience teaching English to students from all backgrounds and working within the NHS mental health community. My goal is to always get better and improve in all areas of life and most importantly in my profession.
Mental Health Administrator at National Health Service (NHS) (2023-02 – Present)
I've currently spent three years working as a Mental Health Administrator within the National Health Service (NHS), from February 2023 to the present. I provided comprehensive administrative support to multidisciplinary mental health teams. My role involved managing confidential patient records, coordinating appointments and clinical meetings, liaising with service users and healthcare professionals, and ensuring accurate documentation in line with data protection and safeguarding policies.
Working in a fast-paced and sensitive environment strengthened my organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism. This experience enhanced my understanding of mental health services and reinforced my ability to remain calm, efficient, and supportive while handling complex and confidential matters.
Academic and Exams Coordinator at Niagara College (2017-09 – 2019-12)
As Academic and Exams Coordinator (September 2017 – December 2019), I was responsible for creating, organizing, and overseeing all examination processes, including developing exam procedures, coordinating placement tests, planning logistics, and ensuring teachers clearly understood requirements through regular meetings. These meetings also focused on improving exam systems and logistics. I served as the main point of contact for teachers, implemented and enforced academy policies, provided classroom cover when needed, and addressed student and staff concerns and complaints.
Additionally, I organized teacher training and led ongoing curriculum professional development sessions to promote effective teaching practices and the sharing of best practices.
Academic Chair at Niagara College (2019-12 – 2020-09)
In December 2019, I was promoted to Academic Chair, a role I held until September 2020. In this capacity, I managed and supervised the day-to-day delivery of teaching programs and focused extensively on teacher management and quality assurance. My responsibilities included curriculum review, conducting periodic teacher evaluations, attending committee meetings, overseeing student examination arrangements, monitoring recruitment, admissions, and student induction processes, enforcing institutional policies, and arranging staff training.
To remain closely connected to classroom realities, I continued teaching four hours per week alongside my leadership duties.
