Aidan Buckingham

I have just graduated with a BEng in Renewable Energy Engineering and am now looking for an engineering role in the wind industry to begin my career in. I started my course because I wanted an impactful career where I could really make a difference. I am a people driven person with 8+ years’ experience in delivering exceptional customer care to high-end clients.

I am a pragmatic and forward-thinking problem solver that can confidently manage and work effectively in a team to complete tasks. I have proven my determination to succeed through my participation in European and World tournaments whilst representing England in Wado-kai Ryu Karate. I have a strong ability to write formal consultancy reports and environmental impact assessments for the renewable industry, primarily for wind power engineering projects, and can use quantitative tools to critically analyse a problem to justify calculations of energy needs.

These skills were demonstrated during my dissertation project of a design and manufacture of a bladeless wind turbine, and similar units reporting performances of floating wind power stability and wind turbine blade optimisation designs. I am now seeking new opportunities to utilise these skills and develop my technical capabilities in the wind energy engineering sector in an impactful and fast paced environment.

I have a renewable energy engineering background but a have stronger foundations in the commercial environment as my work experience has mainly focussed on delivering exceptional customer service to high-end clients.

During my degree I wrote many engineering reports for wind and solar projects and planned how new builds would produce and receive their energy supplies. Acquiring these skills allowed me to complete my dissertation project of an original idea where I designed, manufactured, and tested a bladeless wind turbine made entirely from recycled materials.
