Working in a glass factory for seven years is a unique experience. The rhythmic hum of machinery is the soundtrack to my days. I have developed a keen eye for detail, spotting imperfections in the glass that others might miss.

There's a certain satisfaction in taking great pride in having nicely placed units stacked on A-frames ready to be delivered However, it's not without its challenges. The work can be physically demanding, requiring long hours of lifting heavy units and getting yourself dirty repetitively . Safety is paramount, as heavy equipment pose potential hazards.

The factory has shaped my skills, tested my patience, and forged bonds that will last a lifetime.

Construction Labourer - Mivan

My role was to make sure the environment was kept clean for the staff and the public, the environment being a cruise ship gift shop, I also encountered in learning some skills with electricians and joiners. This has shown me whenever you work as a team anything is possible. Safety procedures was encountered while the ship is moving the objective was to get the product to the shop at a steady pace while keeping aware of your surroundings.

Then set up shop. I would spend many months away from home to make sure it’s ready for the public and that the business can move forward, this was 12 hour shifts and 6 days a week for many months at a time.

The role I played in the factory was welding frames together on nightshift , I had targets to meet and to make sure quality was met with good results. While working in the environment the correct PPE was worn and the house keeping was up to date.

They interpret technical drawings, set up scaffolding, install aluminum frameworks, and fit tiles, insulation, or plasterboard.

I was assisting an experienced plumber with installing, repairing, and maintaining residential or commercial plumbing systems while learning the trade through on-the-job training and study. Key duties include pipe cutting, assembling, cleaning job sites, and installing fixtures. The role requires a strong willingness to learn, punctuality, physical stamina, and adherence to safety guidelines
