Currently self-employed, working as both a live sound engineer and a forester. I enjoy the variety and contrast to life that it currently brings. I am always looking for a new challenge and oppurtunity to grow both professionally and personally.
Music is the passion, I've been playing guitar for over half my life and in the past couple of years have been taking recording and mixing more seriously, signing up to URM Academy to progress these skills beyond a hobbyist level. As part of my Live Sound role I have been recording artists from the desk and mixing their sets for posterity, practice and support of the local scene.
I have had a history of varied roles, currently I am working self employed as a live sound engineer and forester. For the former I set up and take down the PA, manage the stage and perform FOH and monitor mixes for bands on the evening when acting as house engineer for my local venue. Other responsibilities vary from job to job. Within Forestry, my experience is within machine operating, using a tractor to operate either a forwarding trailer or a winch.
Previous to going self employed I have experience in customer facing roles, working in both pubs and a bank. The longest held position however was as Creative Arts Technician within the music department of a college where I assisted in various tasks assisting tutors in delivering their lessons, as well as maintaining and ordering necessary equipment in line with a yearly allocated budget.
