I’m Alenka, a native Italian and Slovenian speaker from Italy. I finished my Master degree and soon after came to London in order to start my career.
I started my logistics career by joining MUJI, a Japanese retail company, where I had gained not only logistic and merchandising related knowledge but have also acquired organizational and problem-solving skills. By using Excel daily and my enthusiasm for calcu-lations, I also came up with my own ideas for files that got integrated in the daily processes and clearly assisted to keep tasks under control and eliminated operational mistakes. That helped me to get promoted to Senior Allocatior and later also to Team leader of a team of 3.
To further broaden my logistic experience, I joined Enotria, not only because it would allow me to specialize in Goods In processes, but also because of the opportunity to manage operations in a bonded warehouse. Despite my title, I find it very motivating that my role is not limited only by Goods in tasks, but it comprises a broad series of bond officer related functions.
I’m a positive thinker, friendly, determined person and also curious for anything that’s different and new. That’s why I’m keen to start and challenge new activities, individual or team projects, where I can grow at both interpersonal and professional level.
I have started my career in Logistics at MUJI as an Allocator and following Senior
Allocator, where I learned that organization of tasks and attention to details are fundamental for successful outcomes, and this acquired mentality helped me to give the best performance also when facing tight deadlines. In the role I had my Excel skills improved by daily performing multiple checks on releasing orders as well as analyzing the inventory levels, upcoming container statuses and filling out reports for weekly meetings. Improving these skills also contributed to come up with my own ideas for files that got integrated in the daily processes and clearly assisted to keep tasks under control and removed operational mistakes.
I also learned to be an excellent communicator, as I was daily interacting with different internal and external partners, such as our warehouse, custom agents, local suppliers.
From a retail environment, I then moved into a wholesalers’ organization, to Enotria
& Coe, where I’m currently managing the Goods in process of the owned warehouse.
This role allows me to be in contact with the warehouse, to learn how my work in the office is reflected at the warehouse level and to change and improve my operations in function of warehouse’s needs. What I further like about my current role, is that despite the title, it is not limited only to inbound operations but as I’m reporting to the Bond officer, I’m as well responsible for example for preparing documentation for exports or managing the registration of new organic products.
I finished my bachelor degree in Italy, i studied Management. After I completed a master in International business in English in Slovenia.
