Assistant Management Accountant – Corporate Finance - NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit - Eastleigh

• Maintain the income log, recording all income activities, to ensure the monthly management accounts reflect the full income position.
• Perform month end accruals and deferrals to reflect the month-end position.
• Ensuring the governance of the processes; ensuring all chargeable work has a valid approval and appropriate documentation has been received, recorded, and filed.
• Raising sales orders in accordance with operational requests and maintaining ledger integrity in line with system procedures.
• Analysing and reconciling the income ledger to the income log to validate the reported position with the Finance Business Partner and resolve discrepancies.
• Contact lead for income queries for Transformation and People Solutions; working with managers and customers to resolve any queries.
• Assisting with addressing aged debts and working with the financial accounting team for the agreement of balances exercises.
• Develop and maintain a monthly income file that includes all active pipelines, accounting for third-party costs and transfers out from multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), to aid the FBP in income forecasting and variance analysis.
• Established and implemented a monitoring system for accounts receivable, categorized by payment terms, to assist the BFP with cash flow forecasting.
• Maintaining the reinvestments file for the corporate team.

Finance Assistant – Diabetic Prevention Programme - NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit - Eastleigh

The role required providing support on rotation across some areas of contracting finance: DPP, Non-Contacted Activity (NCA), and Patient Transport Service (PTS).

• Validation of invoices (DPP).
• Reconciling accounts between providers and NHS England and effective management of queries and discrepancies to meet the payment requirements (DPP).
• Creating and/or updating spreadsheets to assist the Finance Manager with monthly reporting responsibilities (DPP).
• Support the month-end activities and analyse costs and forecasts for monthly accruals for five ICBs within SCW's geography (NCA).
• Assisting in analysing costs for 999, 111, PTS Ambulance and other transport; checking computation of generated accruals; coding and forwarding invoices to payments; updating transaction logs and reports, in line with the month's end procedure (PTS).

• Matching NCA invoices against NHS secondary users' service data, Summary Care Record Database, and NHS tariffs on a daily basis.
• Leasing with any outstanding issues that were preventing invoices from being processed.
