IT Technician - St Joseph's Catholic College

Working at a secondary school I encounter a wide range of tasks; this ranges from dealing with support tickets to running network cables around the building. Due to the environment in which I work, I must stick to a strict SLA to minimise the disruption of the students' learning and ensure classrooms can remain functional. On an average day I will complete around 30 tickets, this does not include the numerous requests over the phone and people coming to the office.
There are over 1,500 users on our system, all with varying levels of access required. With around 100 of those being teaching & support staff. So I deal with a wide range of people, with varying technical knowledge.
As there are so many users, there are always new tickets coming in. These come from staff, parents and students. I am the first point of call for all students and staff if there is a computer/systems emergency.
I will try my hardest to resolve the issue, but I am never afraid to ask the team around me for help if I get stuck and to learn from them. Although a lot of the support I provide is on-site, there is a portion of remote support too. This is to other schools in the surrounding area, as well as when tea
