Rich Mix: Cinema and Operations Assistant (2021-2023), Cinema Officer (2023-Present)

• Central to the Artistic Vision Transformation project group, as we implement steps to define our voice, streamline processes, and start alternate programming; ultimately leading us to an improved financial situation. 
• Key member of the Artistic Advisory Board, where we make informed, evidence-based decisions about the direction we will take the programme. 
• First point of contact with distributors: Including booking films, negotiating holdovers and attending screenings; maintaining a close relationship throughout the process. 
• Key Member of the Cinema Vision Plan, as we transform our programme into independent, event-based cinema; based on audience data, trends and demographics, while also being true to our mission of elevating culture in East London.
•  First point of contact with Comscore and creating weekly benchmarking reports with their data for competitor analysis; building a great knowledge of our cinema competitors. 
•  Analyse weekly reporting to forecast our budget. 
•  Programme the film schedule; requiring foresight and a deep knowledge of film and foresight in order to maximise the potential of our 3 screens - including programming festivals, one-off screenings and venue hires.
•  Work closely with a multitude of partners, for which maintaining a close relationship is paramount. 
• Work closely with our technician team to aid with DCP (or whatever format it may be) delivery from partners. 
• Track distributor terms, generate invoices, and check and approve invoices against the figures I track in our system. 
• Advanced MS Office skills. 
• Provide administrative support and diary management for the team. 

• Intense work during busy hours, and developed a great relationship with my colleagues. 

• High-pressured environment that required strict quotas are met on a daily basis

Education 

MA Film Studies, King’s College London (Merit) 2020-2021 

• Vast understanding of film: ranging from Global Art Cinema, to 21st Century Hollywood and Contemporary American Media. 
• Contemporary media acclimation: Learned about the shifting trends of contemporary media, as well as the socio-political underpinnings that the media responds to, and how the audience responds to this.
•  Dissertation: Centered upon the convergence of different media forms in the contemporary landscape - Required months of independent research.
