Alexander Tubbs

A dedicated and service-driven Real Estate MSc (RICS accredited) student at the Royal Agricultural University. Aiming to build a career as a Surveyor and pursue the APC motivated by the diversity and challenge the profession offers. Drawn to the army reserve as they aligned with core values of integrity and selfless commitment, developing transferable skills in attention-to-detail and communication and teamwork.

Reserve Trooper, Royal Wessex Yeomanry, British Army 2024 to Present

• Completed Army Reserve Basic Training in February. Developed attention to detail skills when preparing for the regular room inspections. 
• Developed communication by undertaking 761 and 762 Signals courses in September. Learnt how to set up both VHF and HF radio systems and developed additional communication skills. Learning to operate complex military equipment including the Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank.

• Worked effectively within a platoon of 30 people in challenging environments. 
• Was a section 2nd in Command, managing the welfare of 8 people in very cold conditions.
• Undertook some adventurous training including a Winter Mountaineering foundation course in 2023 which involved how to navigate and climb mountains in icy conditions using tools such as crampons and ice axes, as well as learning the basics of how to survive an avalanche.

• Worked the bar and the restaurant floor in a client facing role. I have done a variety of events here, including weddings, where there can be up to 200 people on site. 
• During a shift where there was 100 people staying on site, I had to split my time between checking in residential guests, serving drinks and running food orders to customers, as well as cashing up tills at the end of the evening.

• Key Modules: Planning (Merit), Asset Management, Construction & Project Management & Valuation(distinction) 
• Dissertation: Has Part O reduced the risk of overheating.
• Activities: RICS Student, Course Representative, Caledonian Society. 

• Grade: 2.2.
• Key Modules: Introduction to Data Science 69%, Law and Economics 67%, Public Economics 67%, Development Economics 68%. 
• Activities: Sailing, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Tennis, UOTC. 

• A Level results: 3 A Levels, all Grade A: Computer Science, Economics, and Mathematics.
• GCSE results: 10 GCSEs including Maths 9, English Language 6, Chemistry 8, Physics 8, Biology 7. 
• Activities: CCF (Rank: Cadet Colour Sergeant), Piano (ABRSM Grade 3), Speech & Drama (LAMDA Grade 3).
