5AF is a Medical-Surgical unit in a tertiary-care teaching hospital providing acute care to adult patients with complex medical and post-operative needs, specifically related to brain and spinal patients.
- Actively managed high pain needs, intravenous patient-controlled analgesia, provided dressing care management, and promoted safe mobilization and level of activity (use of cervical and thoracic collar/brace)
- Independently managed a caseload of 5-6 adult patients per shift, managing all aspects of care for each patient, working both day and night shifts
