I am a recent Coventry University Economics graduate. While waiting for my first full time job, I have been in the process of completing a course on Data Analysis through the government funded boot camps. I am currently in the finishing stages of this course with only one more project to go before receiving my certificate, marking my completion of this course.
I am a meticulous and flexible candidate for any role in the world of Data Analysis as I have learnt and understood different software used by Data Analysts including SQL, Python and Tableau.
I have no previous experience in paid professional work but I have worked as a volunteer in the past. I have worked at a local charity in Reading called Sadaka where we would offer hot food, clothes and cold food to take away with them. I volunteered here between June - September 2017 and this has taught me many skills, including how to effectively work as a team to reach difficult objectives as well as many other problem solving techniques.
As of March 2023 I have started a role as a carer for a teenage boy, I only work a few hours a week where I take him to his after-school clubs and I am also tutoring him in GCSE level maths.
During my time at Coventry University I had learnt many things to do with economics and many more things outside of my degree. An example of what my classes have taught me is how data can be analysed and used in order to show relationships between things such as years of education an individual has and their level of income, this was done through regression in my econometrics module. On the other hand, university has also helped me overcome many issues that have encompassed my personal life for a number of years, primarily mental health issues.
University had shown me how to become independent and to learn how to rely on myself, this had made a large improvement on my mental health as I had grown a sense of self confidence.
Shortly after graduating from University I had entered into a 3 month Government funded Data Analysis Bootcamp with AMS. From December to March I have learnt so much more about the field of Data Analytics and how crucial this field of study is for every company and organisation. In this course I had furthered my knowledge and understanding of software such as Microsoft Excel, while also learning brand new coding languages such as Python and SQL.
I had also learnt how to visualise data through Tableau.
By working in Data Analysis, I aim to use the skills I had accumulated throughout my time in this course and use this to help aid companies in acknowledging what areas they excel in and what areas need improvement. I hope that this line of work will help generate some new skills that I can learn and hone on the job that may benefit me outside of my professional life.
I am also open to Finance roles as I believe this will make great use out of my strong mathematical abilities and problem solving skills. In this line of work I aspire to aid your company effectively operate and grow to new heights
