I am a driven and detail-oriented Chemical Engineering graduate with a strong interest in manufacturing, process optimisation, and continuous improvement. My background combines academic knowledge of engineering principles with hands-on experience tackling real-world problems, where I’ve applied lean methodologies, data analysis, and technical problem-solving to deliver measurable results. I thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy taking ownership of challenges, and have a proven ability to adapt quickly while maintaining a high standard of work.
With strong analytical skills, clear communication, and a commitment to professional growth, I am eager to contribute to innovative engineering projects and make a positive impact within a forward-thinking organisation.
I have professional experience at Balmoral Tanks, where I first worked as a Manufacturing Improvement Placement Student (July 2023 – September 2024) before progressing into my current role as a Manufacturing Improvement Engineer (September 2024 – Present). Across both roles, I have been actively involved in delivering key projects to enhance product quality, improve safety, and optimise manufacturing efficiency. My work has included leading automation projects to streamline production planning, developing digitalised systems to improve record-keeping, restructuring process forms and SOPs, and conducting time and motion studies to boost productivity.
I have also contributed to factory layout optimisation and asset monitoring initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing techniques and drive continuous improvement.
I hold a BEng in Chemical Engineering with a Year in Industry (2:1) from the University of Nottingham (2020–2023), where I developed strong technical knowledge in process design, reactor engineering, separation technologies, and advanced mathematical modelling. My degree included several major projects, such as the complete design of a bioethanol production plant and a sulphuric acid recovery plant, which enhanced my skills in P&ID development, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and teamwork. Alongside this, I gained hands-on laboratory experience with industry-standard equipment, data analysis, and report writing, building a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of engineering.
