I am an Independent Social Worker, Expert Witness and Social Care Consultant specialising in adult practice, mental capacity, testamentary capacity, LPA assessments and complex Care Act duties. I have a long and well-established history working across adult mental health, forensic services, learning disability services and residential care, progressing from frontline care roles through to Senior Practitioner level. My background includes extensive work within statutory services, consultancy environments and independent practice, giving me a comprehensive understanding of adult social care systems, legislation and operational challenges.
My experience in mental health is significant, including roles in primary care mental health, community mental health teams and out-of-hours social services. I have worked closely with people with severe and enduring mental illness, older adults, individuals with cognitive impairments, people under forensic restrictions and adults with highly complex presentations. I previously acted as a Social Supervisor within forensic services, providing oversight, risk monitoring and statutory reporting for individuals subject to Ministry of Justice conditions.
My overall practice is grounded firmly in relationship-based practice, ensuring that assessments and interventions remain person-centred, strengths-focused and legally robust.
