Alison Milthorp

My name is Alison I’m 58 years old and have been married for 37 years. I have two children and three Grandchildren.

I was born in Bushey Hertfordshire. I attended Bentley Wood High School in Stanmore Middlesex. Where I gained 6 CSE’s.

I have worked as a florist for the last 30 years, the last 16 with the same employer.

I left my Last employment in December 2024, the reason being due to working in a cold/wet environment for the last 32 years also the wear and tear floristry has had on my hands.

I’m now looking for a new challenge. My previous roll included day to day running of the shop, ordering stock, dealing with the general public taking orders, either face to face, via telephone or over the internet, making bespoke floral tributes for them, then delivering to the recipient In my employments I have been employed in a supervisory role, running departments, or Managing florist’s I am proficient in stock taking, ordering, stock control, staff motivation, supervision, and dealing with customer related matters.

I have worked in the Optical Wholesale industry as a supervisor. For the last 32 years following the birth of my children I worked as a Florist. I am now looking for another role within retail.

I'm a florist having gained City and Guilds and NVQ level 2 qualifications.
