I have been in the labouring business for about a year, an aspiring architect who is attempting to gain other skills within the construction industry. As a labourer, I've been able to Gather and dispose of worksite debris to remove safety hazards, broadening knowledge of stand health and safety practice. I've assisted in loading, unloading and moving materials to and from storage and production areas (manually), increasing communication skills and work efficiency.

This experience helped me understand basic principles of health and safety. From signs, to the maintenance of safety gear, I understand the necessities for this in the built environment.

• Gained experience alongside RICS professional and design teams on a new building project for this organisation
• Liaised with planners, conservation and historian professionals in the refurbishment project
• Was able to analyse the processes of this type of project, further enhancing my knowledge in regard to on-site rules and principles.
