Money Confidence Supervisor • TSB PLC • Bridport, Dorset
My promotion to supervisor allowed me not only to expand on my existing role but develop my leadership skills and become more involved at a cluster level. In branch I managed a team of four colleagues who ranged in experience from new to role to those with a longer background in banking. As part of the management team, I work closely with the manager to foster an inclusive and enthusiastic culture that encourages peer on peer support.
A central aspect of my position is to implement regular, tailored coaching with partners and providing feedback, to ensure each member of the team has the support they need to reach their development goals, as well as role modelling those behaviours myself. In this role I further developed my networking skills, becoming cluster representative for the people’s cohort, which looked to encourage engagement through organized events, such as the Aspiring Women meeting in Bristol.

Money Confidence Expert •TSB PLC •Bridport, Dorset
My position as a TSB partner involved six months training, after which I was fully accredited and able to take lending, banking, and protection appointments. In this role I became adept at turning transactions into fuller interactions and ascertaining customer’s additional needs, ensuring that they left better rewarded. I gained invaluable insight into how this role fit in with the bank’s corporate objectives, one of which was moving TSB in a more digital direction.
As a money confidence expert, I championed this at branch level by looking to assist customer’s digitally with their banking, borrowing and insurance needs. My additional responsibilities included supporting telephone banking, becoming a bulk, ATM and IDM cashier and fire marshal.
I earned an upper second-class degree at university, completing my final year during the pandemic, which greatly developed my motivational strategies and ability to work effectively from home. Studying such a multi-faceted course as American Studies has widened the scope of my expertise in several areas, as it included modules from international business to socio-political history and culture. As an ever-evolving field of study, the subject requires a working knowledge of world affairs and is best understood in a globalized context.
The plurality of American Studies together with the opportunity to develop more specialized interests appealed to my more rounded nature and the opportunity to study abroad was one I valued greatly, as a person to whom travel and culture have always had a great impact on expanding my perspective.
