For the last three years, I have spent the summer in America working as a General Camp Counsellor at a residential summer camp for children, young adults and the elderly with special needs and learning disabilities. The placement lasted for ten weeks at a time. During this experience, I would look after them either 2:1 or 1:1. The days varied and involved providing care and support individually tailored to the needs and wishes of both children and adults with learning/ physical disabilities
