I consider myself to be well experienced with working alongside both SEND/inclusion and safeguarding teams within school settings and understand well that each child must have every opportunity to realise their true potential.
In my role currently, I provide wellbeing support, advice and guidance for both children and teaching staff.
Qualified in counselling levels 3 and 4 as well as qualifications within Early Help and family support mechanisms, I am well practiced in facilitating engagement for a multitude of reasons, and with a proven track record of success.
A great number of the children I work with with are currently on SEND/ SEMH pathways and have benefitted greatly from my support.
Due to the sensitivity of any wellbeing provision, there are strict ethical guidelines, boundaries and professionalism which I adhere to at all times.
Each interaction is recorded along with relevant assessments, desired outcomes, SMART targets and impact measurements with overall reporting provided in conclusion. Regularly I attend TAF meetings to provide this feedback so as to ensure that information is shared and to aid "joined up working" at all stages.
I understand the importance of safeguarding and ensure to record any concerns raised as well as following up with DSLs within school settings.
I consider myself a huge advocate of restorative practice at all levels and deliver regular training on this subject. The impact of restorative conversations that I have been a part of have had such a profound effect on the way a child views education and school surroundings.
As well as providing one to one wellbeing support, I am a qualified Senior Mental Health Lead and regularly consult over multiple schools and have been instrumental in the implementation of raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing strategy and action planning.
I have delivered training courses based on mental health, stress awareness, anti bullying, mindfulness for schools and general personal development for all.
Some of the children's workshops I have provided include The Happiness Project which is based on finding happiness at school and taking care of your feelings and emotions by raising awareness.
Currently I am working towards my level 5 ILM Coaching and Mentoring as well as qualifications in Attachment Lead Training which will further bolster my skill set which will bring further opportunity to deliver insight and working recommendations.
