I have worked in academia since 2017, when I began my PhD in Social Sciences exploring health and wellbeing among British Nuclear Test Veterans. Since then, I have contributed to a wide range of research projects spanning topics such as body image and physical education teachers, weight loss injectables, physical activity and dementia/Alzheimer’s, autism in early childhood, baby-led weaning, open science, and socially inclusive ageing.
Over the past four years, I have focused on ageing research, with particular interest in social inclusion and participation in later life. Alongside research, I have extensive experience teaching across BSc and MSc programmes—designing course materials, supervising dissertations, marking assessments, and supporting student learning. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
I currently serve as Chair of the British Society of Gerontology’s Emerging Researchers in Ageing (ERA) group, having been part of the committee for the past three years.
I am passionate about creative and inclusive approaches to research and dissemination, ensuring that findings are accessible beyond academic audiences. My interests include participant-led and participatory research, effective project management, and amplifying marginalised voices across health and ageing research.
My key skills include project management, literature searching and reporting, qualitative interviewing, high-level analysis, and academic writing for publication.
Outside of work, I volunteer as a listening volunteer for Switchboard and enjoy watching women’s football. I also love exploring London, the UK and Europe when possible.
