I am currently exploring new opportunities as Engineering/Contracts Manager or Project Engineer (electrically biased).
I began my career as an apprentice electrician, which provided a strong practical foundation. I progressed into supervisory and management roles relatively early, taking on responsibility for engineering teams, projects, and site-wide electrical systems across HV and LV infrastructure.
Throughout my career, I have been accountable for the performance, reliability, compliance and safety of electrical networks within demanding environments. I have led and developed electrical and mechanical engineering teams, delivered projects from scope through to implementation, taken ownership of asset improvement programmes and built good relationships with clients and major stakeholders in the process. In addition to my electrical background, I have developed solid exposure to mechanical systems within operational and asset management settings, enabling a more rounded approach to managing complex sites.
I have continued to advance my technical expertise and recently completed an HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering through independent study. I maintain a strong interest in electrical systems and their practical application. I am currently exploring to work towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status as part of my ongoing professional development.
More recently, I undertook a role within power systems design to strengthen my understanding of HV systems, including substation design, protection studies, and liaison with DNOs. This has been valuable experience as it deepened my understanding of electrical systems and has strengthened my ability to engage with and challenge technical solutions where required. It has also reinforced that my core strengths lie in operational and project-focused roles, where I can combine technical understanding with practical delivery and accountability for outcomes.
I bring a balanced skill set across design, management of projects and operations teams, ensuring that systems are not only well designed, but also practical, reliable and safe to operate in real-world environments.
I am particularly interested in roles that combine technical leadership, project delivery and asset management responsibilities, rather than purely design-focused positions.
