My name is Andrej Gurocak, I live in Newcastle and am a full-time student at Newcastle University studying International Business Management in second year. I am of Slovak and Turkish descent, and I can speak Slovak and English fluently, and Turkish and Spanish at an intermediate level. I am a very active individual and in my spare time I like to play football, go to the gym, and learn martial arts this all keeps me very focused and dedicated.
I also love being social and spending time with friends.
Work Experience: Volunteering (2019) – As part of my NCS course I completed 15 hours of voluntary work, which was a thoroughly enjoyable experience where I was taught how to plan and lead activities. As a group we raised just over £550 for the charity ‘Veterans in need’ and completed other activities such as litter picks and visiting care homes.
Hap Solutions Group (2021) – I began working at St James’ Park at the beginning of the 21/22 season, serving food and pouring beers on my shifts. I learned how to function as part of an efficient team and to work in a faced paced environment, demanding environment. These transferable skills will help me develop in any future job.
Malhotra Group (2022) – I started working in a busy pub in Gosforth as of March 2022 and learned how to pour various drinks from cocktails to coffees. I now understand how a pub functions and that even when customer footfall is slow there is always plenty to do behind a bar.
